Hello and welcome fellow earthling!

Welcome to Tellurian Treasures. This is a space dedicated to rekindling our relationship with the Earth, nurturing human wellbeing, and exploring how we can live more fully and more connected to the world that sustains us.

A blog by Faine Bellord

A creator, writer, and fellow seeker of meaning in nature’s rhythms. I’m a marketer by profession, an artist and aspiring poet by passion and a nature-lover at heart. Over time, my longing for quiet skies and singing birds found expression in this blog — my little corner of the internet where curiosity, creativity, and care intersect.

Many of us live fast-paced, urban lives, and it’s easy to lose touch with the Earth — our true home. I created Tellurian Treasures to encourage a deeper, everyday connection with nature, because I believe it’s essential for our happiness, health, and wholeness as human earthlings.

Having a corporate job, I sometimes I feel a deep homesickness for the natural world — a longing to escape to the countryside, kick off my shoes, and lie among the wildflowers, simply watching the sky. If you’ve ever felt that too, you’re in the right place. I get it.

Here, I share reflections, practical ideas, and invitations to reconnect with Earth — whether through mindful living, eating with intention, travel that honours culture and curiosity, or pausing to hear what nature has to teach us.

If you’ve ever felt a deep yearning for the wild or wondered what it really means to belong to this planet — you’re in the right place.

What you’ll find here

I’ve organised this space into four themed sections to help you explore deeply and intentionally:

Tellurian Travels

is all about places and culture. I write about the reasons I travel and what travelling has taught me, along with helpful tips when you’re out exploring our diverse and intriguing world.

Tellurian Thoughts

Is where I share my views and feelings and interpretations of the world around me. I like to talk about wellbeing, creativity, spirituality, among other things.

Tellurian Treasures

is all about the invaluable gems of our world, from amazing animals to inspiring people such as environmentalists and artists. We can learn a lot from others. Here is where I celebrate the wondrous treasures that we share our world with and their teachings.

Why “Tellurian Treasures”?
The word tellurian comes from the Latin for “of or inhabiting the earth.”
To me, every living thing from tiny mosses to ancient forests is a treasure worth protecting. And that includes you, too — because your connection to Earth matters.

A little more about me…

At my core, I’m a creative — maybe more now than ever. I’ve always lived a lot in my head, spending half my time in a daydreamy world of stories, project ideas, and big questions about life… or, more often, just thinking about what’s for dinner (relatable, right?).

Curiosity tends to take over my mind. When something captures my interest, it lingers — sometimes for days, sometimes for years. I think that’s why creativity feels so central to who I am: my head is always buzzing with ideas, vivid dreams, and a lifelong love of writing and art.

I also strongly believe that creativity isn’t reserved for a few — it’s part of being human. We’re all wired to interpret and shape the world in profound ways. Lately, I’ve become fascinated by the idea of creative living — something Elizabeth Gilbert talks about beautifully in her books and TED talks — and it’s a philosophy I try to weave into everything I do.

By day, I’m a graphic and digital designer, currently working in email marketing. I also love digital illustration, which started as a hobby but is slowly blooming into a side hustle (very exciting!).

When I’m not creating, you’ll usually find me traveling — I’ve been lucky enough to explore over 26 countries so far, with many more on my ever-growing list. And as a true foodie, I’m passionate about plant-based eating and love discovering fresh, delicious ways to enjoy it.

In my 30s, I’ve also begun embracing my neurodivergence. I’m dyslexic — diagnosed back in primary school — and it’s something I’m learning to celebrate rather than just manage. (You can read more about that in my post, Learning to Love My Dyslexia.)

A note about AI

Technology is not separate from nature — all tools, including AI, rely on the same Earth-bound resources that sustain life. Anything we build exists in relationship with water, energy, land, labour, and ecosystems. With the technology accelerating exponentially, I felt the need to address it here. Read my full AI manifesto.

I see AI, not as something to fear but as something to guide wisely.
This means:

  • Intent before capability: We must ask why we use AI — not just what it can do.
  • Human judgement remains central: AI can illuminate patterns and accelerate understanding, but responsibility and care belong to people.
  • Nature is not external to technology: Every algorithm, processor, and model depends on Earth’s systems — so ethical AI must be conceived with ecological limits in mind.
  • Care must be embedded: Human wellbeing, community, dignity, and connection shouldn’t be afterthoughts — they’re foundational.

This approach isn’t technophobia — it’s stewardship with eyes open, rooted in a deep belief that our tools should support both human and planetary flourishing.
