Tellurian Tastes is all about food glorious food, and the fascinating subject of nutrition. I find nutrition absolutely fascinating. On the Tellurian Treasures blog, I talk about eating a diet that is focused around plants and share recipes for you to try.
I’m also currently studying a diploma in nutrition with the Centre of Excellence in order to broaden my knowledge in the field of nutrition. I have already learnt a huge amount purely through reading and taking a genuine interest in the subject, but with a qualification I will be able to advise others in the hope that I can help them change their lives for the better. My blog is a platform that I hope to share unbiased, helpful information about diet and nutrition.
I don’t believe in ‘going on a diet’ and instead believe in making healthy lifestyle changes and choices that stick. dieting for two weeks and then going back to old habits isn’t going to help anyone. If you’re after a review of the latest fad, you’re in the wrong place.

Cooking is a huge passion of mine. It helps me connect to the food I am eating while helping me to wind down after a busy day. There is something very human about cooking. No other creature on the planet cooks their food so it’s something that makes us pretty special as a species.
By learning to cook, humans have discovered ways to change the flavour of foods and even unlock nutrients we otherwise wouldn’t get from certain foods – For example, cooking tomatoes makes the antioxidants in them more readily available to our bodies to absorb through digestion. Cooking foods also destroys harmful bacteria that could otherwise cause stomach upset.
It is still important to remember that some foods are better eaten in their most natural, raw form, so it’s not always best to cook all foods. For example, dark green leafy vegetables like spinach and cruciferous vegetables are best eaten partly steamed or raw to maintain their nutritional value.
