Tellurian Thoughts is a section of my blog where I share my reflections and perspective on the world around me. I like to explore the subject of wellbeing, creativity, spirituality and more.
Many of my close friends and family would describe me as a creative person and a daydreamer. Since I was a child, I’ve had a vivid imagination. I remember almost being able to see the creatures I made up in my mind, sitting among the leaves of plants while I played in the garden. I never had an imaginary friend, but I would visualise entire worlds.
Jumping ahead to my adult life — I’d consider myself highly curious about a multitude of subjects, and I can be a pretty deep thinker. There have been times when I’ve drifted off into daydream land for hours (no, seriously…), particularly on long plane journeys. I can keep myself content in a space of deep thought for extended periods, often with a soundtrack of ambient electronic music feeding my thoughts through my headphones. I’ve found losing myself in a daydream more entertaining than, say, watching the films on the airline entertainment system — and that’s no exaggeration. My tendency to ‘fly away with the fairies’ is just part of my creativity, and it’s a core part of who I am.
Many of the posts I write in the Tellurian Thoughts section of the blog are born out of moments like these. I’ll often jot down notes during or after daydreaming when I have those little ‘ah-ha’ moments I want to explore further through writing. Writing is definitely my preferred way of processing the collage of images and sounds in my mind. Despite my Dyslexia, I find it far easier to write my thoughts and ideas than to speak them out loud. That said, it takes me a long time to put together a well-formatted and articulated blog post. I usually read and edit it over and over again before I hit publish, just to make sure it all makes sense. I apologise in advance to anyone who may spot the occasional spelling or grammar slip!
